About your father ...

Dear Lili,

As we take a moment to reflect upon Father's Day, I wanted to take a moment to help you understand your father a bit better. Granted you are only 13 months old and yes, you already have him wrapped around your wee thumb. However, there are a plethora of qualities and adventures you still have left to learn. May these pictures illuminate your father ...

- He is a Champion Mini Golfer at our Washington Family Cabin.
- He is concerned about global warming.
- He is able to entertain himself with a camera for hours by taking pictures of himself and your mother, even when he is in touristy exotic locations. Historic landmarks are of no concern when the sun's late afternoon golden light allows for perfect shots.
- He likes to find big trees in the forest.
- Likewise, he loves cacti and has a complete collection of them.
- He believes himself to be a professional bowler. Except on the Wii. The Wii is where your mother's innate bowling skills ring true.
- He will cheat in the Cabin's annual corn cob eating competition. And your Grandmother Jeanne will enable this cheating. You must find a way to stop them,

- He is addicted to his GPS system ... not for navigating in the car but rather, for knowing his exact latitude and longitude in desolate hiking locations.
- He likes to do cartwheels down very large sand dunes.
- He loves to videotape everything. Especially his daughter, wife, family, friends, cat, car rides, gatherings, parties ...
- But most importantly, he loves being a father ... from the very first day you let your presence be known and every day thereafter. His loves continues to grow in amazing ways as he has become the most fun, kindest, caring, and patient father in the world. Your mother waited a long time to find him ... and now that we are together, we want you to know how much you are loved.

May the coming years allow you to learn the wonders of fun in store with your father ... and may you eventually become the #1 Mini Golf Champion at the Cabin!

Love,

Mommy

And, Miss Lili, he cares deeply about other people. He has a lot of friends who think the world of him.

Your daddy is A-Okay. Do you know that he loves you so much, he left a photo of you in the God Tree log box? You'll have to see it when you come to visit.

From his teacher and friend,
